It's VLOG SUNDAY!

Hurray, it's Sunday again -- time for my latest HD vlog extravaganza!

On this episode, you'll see my newest fabric purchases, find out what's next in my sewing queue, and hear me interpret one of Broadway's biggest song hits from the Seventies (Not "Memory," thankfully).

I'm always open to your suggestions, so let me know what you'd like to see more of.

If you're watching on a portable device or wish to view full-size in YouTube, click here.

Enjoy and have a great day, everybody!

  1. I wonder if some sewing review you could re-show the steps to attaching shirts and collars that you learned at your class? I would love to try them but I get confused looking at the photos (can't connect the 2D pictures with the 3D orientation.)
I love the dog yawn/children cheering sound effects at the end.

  3. Peter, my new favorite thing to do on Sundays is watch your vlog. You're such a delight "in person"! That's interesting about the extra-crisp interfacing you used on your jacket - I'll have to check that out. Happy sewing and enjoy all those salads - they look delicious!

  7. I'm not usually a video watcher, but I'm so glad I clicked "play" on this one. Who knew you and Michael were such talented musicians?! What fun. I think your jumpsuit will be cool; looking forward to seeing that.

  14. LOL~ cast iron pans! Oh, my. I LOVE them and would buy some any time I find them. I have several sizes of frying pans - but am on the lookout for a cast iron dutch oven. Just like vintage machines - they clean up and are wonderful - the older the better. The original non-stick cookware, thy go from stove top to oven (just did that for a supper on Sat.) Just had to do a shout out for those old workhorses of the kitchen.

    1. Oh, very yes! And, if you don't use them for cooking, I hear they make an excellent murder weapon. All you have to do is to take off the rust and rub them well with vegetable shortening. Heat them up -- in an oven or on the stovetop -- let them cool, then wipe off any excess grease. They'll be good for another hundred years or so.

  18. I love the rayon fabric!! So happy and pretty.

As always, the music was my favorite part. If only we could get Michael to take a bow. I do have a request, "Just the Way You Look Tonight," from Swing Time.

  19. Love the Vlog, the singing, Michael on the piano, garment changes, fabric, pattern talks, etc. So much in such little time, it's like watching a mini entertainment show but about sewing. Fantastic!

  21. Another wonderful vlog post. I love how you styled your jacket.

Thank you for recommending Jonathan Embroidery. They did a great job for me last week.

  23. I was very pleased you are going to do the Hermes Jumpsuit, I freakin love it. It was styled nicely and looks comfortable.

Not generally a big fan of jumpsuits just because they are awkward if you have to use rest room. Well you know what I mean, but the look is so cool with the tapered legs, trim not overly baggy body, and it didn't look like a "flight suit for a military pilot"

I have a few jumpsuit patterns and I am going to see if I can recreate this in a Navy Blue cotton/lycra fabric. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your finished "runway knockoff"

    VERY EXCITING!!

  24. I'd love to know what you do with your hardy Cathy wardrobe when she's finished wearing your handmade gifts. Do you have a Cathy closet? Do you feel inundated with vintage dresses?
