*NOTE: While modeled as an ensemble, these pieces totally work as separates and will most likely be worn that way a lot of the time.

I'll go for "C". This outfit is fabulously retro without looking costumey. I love it and you look great in it. I think it will look great as separates as well. I like the jacket the best.

ReplyDeleteC! It's retro, but the fabric choice gives it a modern feel to me. I really like the back pleat on the jacket. I can totally see how these pieces will work well as separates too.

ReplyDeleteThe jacket is the perfect marriage of silhouette and fabric choice. If I found the jacket in a store I would buy it. It looks great today but will improve as it ages and speaking of which, your modeling really sells it. Well done, sir!

Beautiful job, as always, Peter! I think the outfit looks great buttoned up. It does remind me however of my husband when I first met him in 1970...he looked just as dashing. BTW, I always thought you were a tall man! Anne-Marie

ReplyDeleteD It is too matchy matchy. The jacket I like, and I think they would look great as separates. Mix them up with different colors and some textures. As usual your garments are perfection.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pieces together (and apart). The neckerchief looks fantastic! I'm inspired to make an ensemble of my own. To the fabric store for a quantity of sturdy shirting!

I say neckerchief for your neckwear there, but now I'm not sure. I was a scout (scouting actually taught me to sew) and that's what they're called, but maybe when a neckerchief is on a non-scout it's called a bandana or a scarf? (The things you think about when you're bored and trying to avoid work.)
DeleteI think they look great! I prefer trousers which are not quite so wide at the ankle, but they really fit you well and look good in that back view shot. The jacket is fab!

ReplyDeleteI am a total lurker, but I've just got to say that is an excellent outfit. Just absolutely on the mark - sorta avante-garde but not distractingly so, something that is current but not something that will just look dated in two years, wonderful fabric, really suitable for summer. (I think the mesh tank is a great touch.) Simply a terrific outfit!
ReplyDeleteHey Peter! First time commenting...Whoop! Whoop! Loving the jacket and trousers! just had to tell you, I was in Milan on holiday last week and passed by the Prada shop. They have your jacket and trousers in their window!!! on closer inspection though they were sub par in every way...the fabric was much darker and corser, the fit was much more boxy and the finishing was frankly terrible! Even my better half comented on it! What a cheek on their part to copy your clothes and do such a shocking job of it! Keep up the great work!!!!!
