Readers, the day has arrived!
To think that only one short week ago, this rayon print was just a damaged flea market remnant -- and is now a fetching Forties frock!
The day of our shoot couldn't have been more splendid and Cathy was in fighting form. I think you'll agree, my dear cousin hasn't looked this radiant since she was carrying baby Simplicity.
I do hope you enjoy the photo shoot and please tune in to tomorrow's vlog for LIVE FOOTAGE and to hear Cathy speak -- and maybe even sing!
As always, to see these photos full-size, just click any image and,
in Picasa, choose the album name, and then, in the upper left hand
corner, "Slideshow." (Those with mobile devices can click
here.)
What do you think -- was Cathy born to wear red rayon?
Have a great day, everybody!
What can i say...your self-serving cousin has done it again; turned out looking a peach on your dime and time!
ReplyDeleteAlthough just between you and me, in the slide pic labelled "red gloves", Cathy, with her gloved hand in the fore-shot, looks reminiscent of one of the witches from the movie "The Witches" from the book by the beloved Roald Dahl.
Peter, your skill and passion never cease to amaze me; neither does your apparent endless reservoir of 'cousin patience'.
Boarding school ... and banana .... hahaha!!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is DIVINE! I'm not usually drawn to vintage for myself but I think I want this one.
Looking forward to tomorrow's vlog.
You'd rock this dress, Debbie! (I'll provide the gloves.)
DeleteI love her picnic basket!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
wonderful show and the dress is superb. you amaze me Peter.
ReplyDeleteI doubt than even Constance Bennett could look more glamorous than Cathy does. The dress is wonderful. It has movement. The color is vibrant. Love how blase New Yorkers leave a beauty alone for a small fashion shoot.
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a wonderful dress and so stylish. Boarding school huh? :-)
ReplyDeleteRed is definitely Cathy's color. She looks divine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun dress! Cathy looks great in red!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite photo shoot Cathy's done!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and fabric!
ReplyDeleteSuch a witty photo shoot! Cathy was greatly missed and she looks every inch the supermodel in that gorgeous red dress.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Cathy's photo shot is the reason I got out of bed this morning. Bravo! Bravo!
ReplyDeletesublime! my favorite shot is the one posing so stylishly on that boulder. happy pride weekend, peter!
ReplyDeleteShe is perfectly, perfect.... simply red.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you found a pay phone...........She's quite the doll!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh. I was *just* going to say that about the pay phone. I'm surprised the receiver is still attached.
DeleteI've missed dear Cathy. She's looking as radiant and beautiful as ever - banana and all.
Isn't that shot priceless! It's my favorite of the entire shoot. Such personality!
DeleteI cant quite believe you've managed to make such a beautiful dress in a week! You have some serious sewing skills

Magnifique... the dress, the hat, the storyline & Cathy of course!
ReplyDeleteCathy looks gorgeous, as always. Who's the chick in the black-and-white photo?
ReplyDeleteThat's poor little Gloria Vanderbilt, but for our purposes it's Simplicity at Miss Porter's School.
DeleteI'm in awe of that fabric, and the pattern is divine..... so is Cathy!
ReplyDeleteall of the above and the gorgeous red gloves...
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCathy looks smashing in red rayon! It's definitely her color. You hit the jackpot when you found that fabric.
ReplyDeleteVery saucy banana picture. ;)
The dress, the styling, Cathy and the shoot are absolutely fabulous.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to hear Cathy speak!!
Spud.
Red is ravishing on Cathy Lane. Can't wait for tomorrow's VLOG. Brava!
ReplyDeleteOh Cathy looks so gorgeous! Love all the captions, especially the Simplicity and boarding school things - damn my curiosity, I do want to know what Simplicity did now!
ReplyDeleteWill Cathy commandeer a Vlog for herself??
ReplyDeleteWear a variety of her finery, while dispensing her hard scrabble wisdom?
You could use a week off, Peter.
Beautiful! So lovely to see Cathy again. We need to see more of her. Maybe Cathy can make a guest appearance tomorrow, or some time soon. The red is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! Looks gorgeous on Cathy but I do prefer the white gloves. I wish I had such easy access to vintage fabric and patterns!
ReplyDeleteSo glamorous! I love this look on Cathy.
ReplyDeleteCathy lugged that big picnic basket around NYC just to hold one banana & some cigarettes?! Why didn't you offer to carry them for her, Peter?
ReplyDeletePeter, I'm thinking you need a shirt in that exact shade of red!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks you and Cathy could be twins
ReplyDeletePeter, you make beautiful clothes, and Cathy should be proud. She looks stunning as usual! That print is beautiful. Thanks for the daily inspiration and great craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteRed is an excellent color on Cathy. I bet it would look great on you too since you have similar coloring. ;-)
