Meet the Misses, PART 2 (including the Cathy outfit YOU NEVER SAW!)
Oh, readers, once I started excavating the sewing atrocities, I realized that there were many, many more fashion fiascos than I had originally thought.

Muslining a Vintage Sixties Swimsuit Pattern

I own about half a dozen vintage men's swimsuit patterns, which I've picked up over the years mainly on eBay and Etsy.

Swimsuits 2, 3, & 4 (including Michael's Marc Jacobs Floral Print Square Cut)

Readers, in one of those "only could happen to Peter" moments of which I experience so many, I was walking the dogs yesterday when what do I discover discarded at a nearby curb but a pile of clean swimwear knit remnants (above). I took it as a sign that I am aligned with my purpose.

Swimsuit #1: Square-Cut Tropical Print (NSFW?)

Let's face it: there's not a lot of tailoring in a mens swimsuit. It's basically two or three pieces of fabric stitched together with the top folded-over to create a casing for a drawstring. But it has to fit. And ideally it's finished in a professional way. That's my ideal anyway.

MPB SNOW DAY SPECIAL --100% men's shirt free!
Friends, as you can see, we had another big snow dump yesterday. It kind of makes me want to crawl back into bed and it definitely makes me want to take a break from talking about shirts. We all need a rest now and then, no? (But since you asked, somebody please remind me to talk about pattern tracing paper -- maybe you can recommend some?)

Peter's best (and worst) of 2010!
Friends, as 2010 draws to a close, let's take a few minutes to recall some of the high -- and low -- points of this, our very first year together.

You win a few.... + GIVEAWAY!
Good morning, kind and compassionate readers!
So the day I bought that multicolored seersucker I also picked up a yard of this bold, sturdy stretch knit, thinking it would be great for Cathy. Then I changed my mind: I wanted to make myself another bathing suit and, fresh from my cabana set success, decided I would make a matching racing suit and tank top.
