Six months of pattern boldness

It's been a busy six months -- and that was before I launched MPB!  Below is a slideshow of most of the projects I've sewn since I bought my first sewing machine last June.

Would you believe my original intention was merely to shorten some thrift store jeans I was too cheap to bring to the tailor?  HA HA HA HA HA!

And speaking of pattern boldness, how about this lamp I found on the street recently?  Now THAT'S a palette I can live with.

  1. Love the blog and yeah, sort of hate that we started sewing at the same time and that you're lightyears ahead of me. ;)

  2. A man sewist who makes jeans AND clothes out of sheets (both without looking homeless), all with less than a year of sewing experience = my new hero.

Great slideshow, too--you are a more than worthy nemesis for Selfish Seamstress (yep, came from that direction!)

  3. Peter, I hate to say this but I think I love you and hate you all at the same time, I must say it is this odd feeling of wanting to hug you and scratch your eyes out like in an old "girls fight" anyway, i guess your clothes are okay...lol!!! I am a fan of "the selfish seamstress" so I kind of have to hate you but dont tell her that secretly I love you and you prize winning floral shirt ;)

  10. Thanks, Mimi. I actually wore those to the opera and I got a lot of strange stares but no one assaulted me or anything.

  11. So glad to find your blog via the Selfish Seamstress (and boy watch your back :-)) What's funny is that we had some of the sheets that you're shirts are made from. A trip back to the 70s!

Your cousin is a lucky girl to have you making clothes for her. And what a set of gams! ;-)
