Friends, today's the day!
You can see Michael model the new summer outfit I made him
here.
Swiss dot is the most summery fabric I can think of (okay, maybe seersucker too). It's so airy and delicate and cool-looking.
It's fun to turn fabric usually associated with womenswear into menswear, and create something you wouldn't find at J. Crew, Banana Republic, or Brooks Brothers. I didn't choose the Swiss dot and the striped linen (which I used for Michael's shorts) at the same time or with any intention of combining them in an outfit. It was pure luck that I had both in my stash and they paired up so well together.
A hot spell is heading this way, apparently. With Michael's latest outfit, some sunblock, and a bottle of water, I think he's well-prepared.
Have a great day, everybody, and stay cool!
Correction: what you have in your stash is one male model.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere between the smile and the stems I noticed the buttons (they're quite nice too).
You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit. Love the swiss dot fabric for shirt. Michael looks great
ReplyDeleteI've always thought the Swiss are neutral but this is downright subversive! Beautiful work, as always. The buttons add depth and were a great choice.
ReplyDeleteSummer outfits will never be the same, Peter! Michael looks wonderful, and your work is awesome!
ReplyDeleteMichael looks quite pleased with his new clothes and well he should be, as you did a great job on them! Wonderful workmanship!
ReplyDeleteThe shirt, the shorts, Michael - you scored a tifecta.
ReplyDeleteSpud.
As always, your shirt making skills are impressive. Removing the button placket seems like a good idea when dealing with swiss dot fabric. Your fabric looks thin and pliable, but I've had difficulty with the dots in folds and seams. Loving the shorts too!
ReplyDeleteI was in a fancy dapper gentlemens store yesterday. They had a very cool looking suit with shorts like the ones you made here and a blazer type jacket. Same type fabric and style.
ReplyDeleteI love the texture of the fabric, the pattern mixing, the perfect tailoring--really delightful. Michael is ready for an ice cream social and beachside stroll.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the fabric looks, it makes a really nice shirt (especially for hot summers, like you said!). I really like the little floral designs as well! Great job as always
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit Peter! You did an awesome job selecting and pairing pattern/fabric. Congratulations to Michael for a awesome photo shoot!
ReplyDeleteWOW, this looks so cool, yet HOT in swiss dot, and comfortable. LOVE IT!
