Readers, my pea coat is finished and you can see me modeling it RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE over at the Mood Sewing Network.

It's cold and gray in NYC today -- perfect weather for snuggling with a couple of chihuahuas and a good book (or an old movie on YouTube). If you're traveling for the holidays, be safe.
Have a great day, everybody!

ReplyDeleteFantastic job Peter. It looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteYou are a superstar! It looks fantastic and you did such a great job on it!
ReplyDeleteAh-Mah-Zing Peter! The whole outfit is very stylish and I love the cut on your coat, very flattering! I just need a couple of coats "under my belt" and a few shots of tequila and I can feel myself ready for a Japanese pattern challenge!
ReplyDeletePeter, you did a fabulous job. You can't hear me, but I'm applauding. The details on the coat are perfect.
ReplyDeleteLovely work, Peter!
ReplyDeleteI looked over at Mood and it is a wonderful pea coat. Congrats as I know it took a lot of work. It looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the details. You're going to use it alot, you had to get it right. And I think it will wear over time beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish jacket. Congratulations. Have a well deserved rest.
ReplyDeleteThat coat is the Biz-Niz!!!!!! Love it. My fav!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant job, Peter. All that time and effort has paid off. I hope you get many years/wears out of your coat.
ReplyDeleteBravo!
Spud.
Yay! It came out great. A labor of love, so wear the hell out of it. I sense that it will only get better with age.
ReplyDeleteThis coat is RIDICULOUS - in a good way. I jumped up and immediately showed my husband, who is also terribly impressed. Wow, wow, wow - I love it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, stylish, styled so well. Your eye made a perfect marriage of pattern and fabric! Wear it well!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look as though you should be on an estate somewhere in England. You look very regal, and the coat is amazing.
ReplyDeletethis is brilliant! makes me want to make one for my Mr... or myself! such a classic shape, and i can see ou wearing it foryears to come!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coat, Peter. Worth every bit of all that hard work that went into it.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic but I feel like it needs a belt?!
ReplyDeletePeter! Beautiful job!! I know you went through the wringer with this project, but the end results was so worth it! Whenever I need to get my sewing mojo jumpstarted I go to my book "Halston - An American Original" and your blog. You know you just inspired a lot of people to grab the bull by the horns and get sewing!! I hope you have a great and restful Thanksgiving!! I'm sure the dogs are happy you're finished and can give them your full attention.......the cat whose apartment I live in, never fails to "sample" my fabric when I lay it out or insists on wrapping herself around the machine as I'm sewing!! LOL!! Thank goodness for spray bottles!! Ceerio!
ReplyDeleteI am in love! That coat is absolutely incredible - a really, really fine job! And to create it without being to read Japanese!!! I bow to you!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic in that coat-- so elegant, and the styling was perfect. The whole look is very expensive.
ReplyDeleteThe coat is wonderful - and from diagrams only! And you look great in it. I may stop hesitating on ordering some Japanese language only books, instead of waiting/hoping to find them in Egnlish. I'm not $ure if that'$ a good thing or not.
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this coat. I think this is one of your best menswear projects. It looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful job. The coat looks great!
ReplyDeleteFa-Bu-Lous
ReplyDeleteTHAT, my friend, is classy!
ReplyDeleteGreat coat, you should be proud. There is one thing though, I avoid like the plague those inner pockets that cross the divide between lining/facing. It makes replacing a lining an utter nuisance.
