That is one of the most creative shirts I have seen on a guy. I absolutely LOVE it. Michael looks so handsome and just so fashion forward in that shirt. Great job!
Great job! Eyelet is typically not a fabric I associate with menswear but I always ogle it at the fabric store. Maybe I will try to use something similar in my next shirt.
Actually the reason that eyelet is 'cool" is due to pure physics: when air is forced through a small opening it relinquishes heat; that is why one can be driven crazy by the apparent "draftiness" of clothes with holes in them: the little puffs of air hitting your skin really ARE as chilly as they feel. So wearing a cotton mesh (or eyelet) shirt in the heat really does have an extra- cooling effect on a hot day!

ReplyDeleteThe camp shirt style suits Michael. The collar and lapel frame his face nicely.
ReplyDeleteHe does rock the shirt. And it has ventilation! What a perfect fabric for this icky summer heat.
ReplyDeleteCreative use of eyelet. But no photos of the vintage buttons? You mention them, but I can't see them clearly in the photos.
ReplyDeleteJust pink plastic -- I'll post close-ups later on.
