I've heard of them, but have never seen a real one nor seen a pattern for it. I love the idea because the first thing that always wears out (and is most noticeable on my hubby's shirts) is the collar. I'd love to simply go "ta-da new collar" and refresh his favorite shirt so he can wear it until the fabric is well and truly dead.Andiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730357796719636795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1991166428290808171.post-31085718432245802132012-11-30T16:31:57.629-05:002012-11-30T16:31:57.629-05:00sorry, i meant 4287 mentioned abovesorry, i meant 4287 mentioned aboveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1991166428290808171.post-70761846653222254932012-11-30T16:29:06.828-05:002012-11-30T16:29:06.828-05:00I actually found this blog looking for Simplicity ...I actually found this blog looking for Simplicity 4278 to make a Charlie Sheen style shirt for my husband. Just call it research.

Unlike almost everyone else, I do make shirts with camp collars for my boyfriend. The first shirts I made for him had proper collars with collar stands but he has a short and thick neck and I noticed he kept pushing the collar flat. For a collar with a stand, that is not a good look. So, I switched to making camp collars on his shirts. On him, it looks better and is more comfortableLaurianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16602295642057814667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1991166428290808171.post-52785880124509663242011-01-13T20:32:41.753-05:002011-01-13T20:32:41.753-05:00I figured it out! It sounds like a pitance to us but back in those days I'm sure it was much more meaningful. And who can resist Doris Day at the hieght of her game?

The search and recovery operation taking lace here at my house has proven successful. I found my ham, point presser/clapper, and point turner, not to mention several other nifty items. There's nothing like moving to cause chaos.

I vote for the vintage detachable collar. It could make laundering the shirt easier and you could make several collars in different colors to accessorize. How could anyone resist that?
