I know many of you never thought you'd see the day when my cousin Cathy Lane returned to modeling.
After a four-year absence, does Cathy still have what it takes?
Motherhood has made Cathy more womanly.
But she is still just as beguiling.
Here Cathy models McCall's A-2, a vintage 1959 dress pattern designed by Luis Estevez exclusively for the Quaker Oats Company.
Cotton polka dotted fabric is from Chic Fabrics in the NYC Garment District.
The beautiful "away from the neck" collar is accentuated by a large statement bow.
Whipped up by yours truly.
Cathy still has many of her same old vices.
But fortunately maintains the dewy-fresh complexion of a newborn.
Cathy has once again begun to make the rounds.
She has cleverly accessorized her Luis Estevez creation with a black satin clutch, kid leather gloves, bangle bracelets, button earrings, sunglasses, and a black velvet chapeau.
Cathy's day starts early.
She travels from go-see to go-see in search of a modeling gig.
She feels so good to be back in the city, a single gal on the go.
Daughter Simplicity, now six, currently attends a military academy in Switzerland.
Cathy writes when she can.
Life is so full of possibilities for our youngish model.
In her Luis Estevez original, who knows what might happen?
Especially for a beautiful model like Cathy.
With a newly-enhanced figure!
See you soon!
Looking good, Cathy! Hope to see you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing that Cathy spent her hiatus in Paris? What lovely savoir faire in every shot. Polka dots become her. Welcome home, Cathy! You were missed!

ReplyDeleteThank you Peter! This made my day. Excellent dress, I'm pretty sure if I met Cathy I'd fight her for it. I hope she makes an appearance on your blog again, soon!
ReplyDeleteI thought Cathy would be turning heads as she strutted down the street but no New Yorkers are so blase. Great looking dress, very chic.
ReplyDeleteCathy, you look stunning in that lovely dress. I was worried about little Simplicity at first, but judging from the photograph, the military lifestyle seems to suit her.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so happy.
ReplyDeleteBon jour, Cathy!
ReplyDeleteLoved the dress. And the bum enhancement.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant! The dress & Cathy are a perfect match. I love the accessories, from the kitten heels to the hat; but those glasses- just fantastic! IG doesn't do her justice, btw (I follow as Laurpud)

ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see Cathy back. I, for one, am a big fan.

ReplyDeleteHow has it been 4 years?! Cathy looks great.
ReplyDeleteI´ve missed you Cathy!!! Looking good!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Cathy is back. Dress is divine. Uber stylish as always
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Cathy. You must have forgotten your modeling lessons on pacing in high heels--smaller steps are de rigueur. All else looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou...a..eer..I mean Cathy is stunningly breath taking. I particularly love the cat eye sun glasses. I probably can't afford them but would you share your source. Keep it up babe.. You got what it takes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanne! I think I found those glasses at the Salvation Army (or maybe the Chelsea Flea Market) quite a few years ago. Certainly not costly, but it's hard to know when you they might turn up.
DeleteI thought it was Dorian Leigh...then I discovered I was wearing my husband's glasses.
ReplyDeleteCathy,
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous and fabulous!
And...
You’ve inspired Philene to take her first tentative step out of the basement.
Grateful,
P
You've made my day, Phil!
