Come See My Completed Coveralls!

Friends, my coveralls are finished.   Click here to see me model them.

These are a bit of a departure for me but I think I'm ready for a departure.  They're incredibly comfortable to wear plus you don't have to worry about putting together an outfit.

If you read my Mood post, you'll know that I made a few minor alterations to my pattern, primarily related to length.  A Small generally goes by chest size (34-36") and not height, and I'm only 5'7".  Straight out of the envelope they'd probably fit a guy who's 5'10.  Of course, coveralls are supposed to be roomy enough to fit over other clothes -- hence the name.  I think they look great with or without.

Hope you like them and don't forget to change your oil regularly!

  1. Blue is the new orange.

    The plunging neckline becomes you.

Is that rayon seam binding Hug-Snug by any chance?

  2. Haha to Testosterone above.

Peter - love the new coveralls. I'm wishing I had a shortie pair right now since the humidity in my parts (not MY parts, but the geographical area ... er ... TMI?) is quite oppressive this week and that linen would be deeee-vine.

I hope you do end up wearing them lots and lots. They look really hip and trendy.

Also, how did I not have a Chihuahau-ish dog in all this time? Charlie, our new Chi-Weenie, is so incredibly lovable. Are Willy and Freddy just as cuddly?

    1. You can stroke Willie all day; Freddy a bit more standoffish, though both sleep with us under the covers. So cuddly, yes. Charlie is adorable!

  5. I wasn't so sure about blue coveralls, but I must say that you did a great job and you look fantastic! I like the rolled up, tab sleeve, and the linen really does set it apart from canvas "workmen" coveralls. Fabulous!

  10. It might be the short sleeves that make the big difference.

The fabric can matter a lot. Synthetics are not a good idea when you're doing stuff such as arc-welding (and always have the ankle-cuffs outside your boot tops).

  11. I love these! My grandson has severe excema and I want to make him a pair because they will cover his bodyg and help him from injuring himself from scratching. He is only 4 so i am looking for a children's pattern as you have shown here on your website. Do you know where I could find this pattern? Sally K
