PETER SINGS -- New Year's Wishes from MPB!

Friends, I've decided to skip the usual end-of-year reviews and leave you instead with a simple holiday song, sung in a simple holiday house coat.

Have a Happy New Year, everybody, and thank you for all the kindness and warmth you've shared with me this year!

I really love the robe you made for your mother. It takes me back. I made one very similar to that when that fabric was first in style. I love the shape, the cut and the fabric. Sorry she didn't like it. I wonder if you could dye it one amazing colour so that she would like it.
Love your blog. Thanks and Happy New Year to you too.

  33. The housecoat suits you. The real questions are, 1. What is Cathy doing New Year's Eve, and 2., please tell me that's Michael's studio and you have not managed to fit a piano into your apartment along with the chihuahua treadmill and numerous sewing machines?
Happy New Year to you both, to Willy and Freddy, and to Housecoat-less Sonja.

I'm a newbie and detected recently your blog. I own a very old "Singer-Treadle" (about 100 years old i guess ?). It's a heirloom from my grandparents. Now I try to check it out and hope I can handle with it, because I would like to sew "patchwork jeans" and to change my old bluejeans into "new designer jeans"...hahahaha...

    Later I will tell more....

    Happy New Year 2014

  56. Happy New Year, Peter and Michael. Thank you for the wonderful rendition of a beautiful song (beautifully done by the way). Like many I feel like I have grown to know y'all from following your fab blog this past year. If my hubby (also named Peter) and I get up that way to visit our son who is living in Brooklyn I would love to actually meet y'all. Maybe take a trip to Mood Fabrics and see what that's all about. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2014.

  80. My phone isn't allowing me to scroll after a short visit to this site (about 5 seconds), and Laura Mae's site as well (coincidence???). Refreshing doesn't help, and I can't comment.

So, after days of frustration I am on an actual computer and able to comment. [end rant]

From the swing and sway of "THAT robe!!!", before the first note was sung, you and Michael had me.

MPB is the town hall, smart lounge behind an unmarked door, and clearinghouse for creative characters. Each year the organic growth in sewing and social commentary delights and captivates, and one can only await the unscripted path MPB takes in 2014.

    For keeps,
