(I'm guessing). The skirt fabric's edges were at the waist and gathered there, creating a double layer skirt with no hem. It was strikingly elegant in muted silver and taupe. I still remember it after more than 50 years, and think the construction method that avoids having to hem such a skirt is sheer genius.Patriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12246685101112641635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1991166428290808171.post-39675949793018043152012-11-04T14:19:28.339-05:002012-11-04T14:19:28.339-05:00it is easier to sew chiffon when you put very ligh...it is easier to sew chiffon when you put very light paper (possibly pattern cutting paper, rice paper or lighter and more easily breakable) under it while sewing - your machine handles it better so it won't get stuck.Sinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08797808876229195197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1991166428290808171.post-51961278064577038422012-09-23T21:19:05.221-04:002012-09-23T21:19:05.221-04:00Interesting about Helen Rose!
