Christina's Completed Wedding Dress

Christina's wedding was yesterday and, readers, it was lovely.

I only have a few shots to share, taken on my phone, but I should have some professional photos from Christina's (and Val's) wedding soon.

Let me fill you in on what's happened since last I posted about this project.  Christina's corset needed a little embellishment along the top edge.  I looked at a ton of bridal trim in the Garment District and discovered some wonderful shops that were new to me.  Below is a shot from B & Q Trimmings, a  shop with an amazing selection and very good prices.  I can't believe I'd never even heard of it before!

I chose some chiffon rosettes to embellish the top edge of the corset.  They added softness and texture.  I love them.

I basted the rosettes on before stitching them by hand permanently. 

I made Christina's guipure lace shrug in her favorite color, purple.  As you may already know, I'd added a wide purple tulle ruffle for the petticoat I made her, and the ribbon on her corset was purple too.

It was so lovely to get to see Christina wearing the dress I made and I received many, many compliments on it.

Again, I'll post more photos from both weddings when I receive them.  Thank you for joining me on my bridal gown journey, which started so many months ago.  I learned a great deal making them and got so much pleasure out of it.
