The hoodie is officially in the house! To see me modeling it, just click here.
But that's not all -- you'll also get to see me sporting the preppy tan dress pants I recently completed from a vintage 60's Simplicity pattern.
Not for the first time, the weather didn't entirely play along with the clothes I was wearing in the photo shoot, but I am hopeful that in the coming weeks temperatures will rise and I can put these garments into full rotation.
If this hoodie wasn't quite the "comfort sewing" exercise I'd been looking for, it's proving super-comfy in the wearing. I don't want to take it off -- ever!
Is there a zip-front hoodie in your future?
Have a great day, everybody!
Grommets make me happy. |
Good to see the sidewalks w/out snow.
ReplyDeleteThe hoodie looks long enough to keep your mid-section warm and it's very nice fabric. Well done!
I have become the pullover hoodie person (wearing one now to keep WARM). I overload the front pocket with scissors and pin containers and snacks. And even more recently - taking off the hood and rearranging it into a funnel neck with drawstring. Brrrrrr.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see someone make that hoodie pattern and make it look good! I have stashed away somewhere...
ReplyDeleteWow. It all looks great. The workmanship is top notch.
ReplyDeleteThe model is a wasp waisted beauty. You always do such a great job.
How dare it be sunny in NY and not here! Nice work though, the trouser side pockets are very good.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Love that you're rocking your newly dyed shirt too!
ReplyDeleteHow is the sizing on M5252? A few years ago I tried to make the similar styled M5538 as fleece jackets for Christmas presents and the sizing was horribly off. The medium size I sewed ended up equivalent of XXL ready to wear. Since then I have hesitated to sew McCall unisex patterns.
ReplyDeleteI would say the sizing is generous. I made the Small (the smallest size) without any significant alterations and I'm on the short side (5'7").
DeleteExcellent workmanship and beautiful clothes!!! I am so jealous of your skills.
ReplyDeletePeter, I just wanted to thank you for your sewing inspiration. I have returned to sewing for myself after a long hiatus due, in large part, to this here blog and all the great projects you have taken on. Mil gracias! Anna
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear, Anna. Thank you!
DeletePeter, I'm diggin the whole look. I really enjoy seeing how you work/mix/model all the pieces together, hoodie, shirt, pants, shoes, etc. The fabric for the hoodie looks really comfy.
ReplyDeleteThe whole outfit looks amazing! The colors go very well, including the shirt! The hoodie fabric really works well. I like the drawstring and grommets. Makes the hoodie more practical.
