Peter Models the Red Polka Dot Shirt

Readers, my first polka dot shirt is done!

This unique French fabric from Elliott Berman is a little hard to look at close up.  Not a few times I had to step away from the sewing machine and give my baby browns a rest.  I don't know how those polka dots were manipulated to make them look like a blinking Times Square Jumbotron, do you?

This time I put a lot of care into gathering my sleeves before attaching the cuffs and I really like the way they came out.

Now it's time to tackle the color blocked version.  Then maybe we can do a "which version do you like better" post.

Wish me luck and have a great weekend, everybody!

  3. I just made my husband a black and white striped shirt. I had to walk away from it a few times as well because it was making me dizzy. I was worried he'd give his co-workers seizures when he wore it to work but it looks much better made up and not as dizzying as it looked while sewing it.
    Love your shirt.

  22. This shirt is a total home run. The fabric is so special and you were smart to let it do the talking without any other static that might detract from its impact.

Now, you can have total freedom to color block!

    A wonderful garment. Bravo.
