NEWS FLASH: We interrupt this Sew-Along...!
Men keep score. (Am I wrong?) So imagine my excitement this weekend when I hit 1,000 blog followers!
It's really all I've ever wanted since the beginning, and if it weren't for a certain other sewing blogger with three times as many followers as me, I could quit now and die happy. Instead I must soldier on. I try not to think about her but once or twice a day. La la la, I don't see you....
This must be what Jayne Mansfield felt like.
Or Lorna Luft.
Anyway, I could think of no better way to celebrate this big-if-not-biggest number than a pattern giveaway -- something really good.
Meet Vogue 2876!
Friends, this beautiful vintage 1943 reproduction is multi-sized for a contemporary 12-14-16 (a 34, 36, or 38" bust). It's in perfect condition. And it has your name on it -- well, one of you anyway.
You have until Tuesday at midnight, EST, to enter, and the winner will be chosen at random. MPB followers all over the world are eligible.
All you have to do is, oh, I don't know -- just throw your name in. Let's keep it simple, no poetry.
All you jeans sew-alongers get a day off today, but please don't take advantage. I know there are flies badly in need of zippers and how do you think you're going to get those jeans on and off without one? (We'll be covering button flies later this week, btw).
Happy Monday, everybody and -- all kidding aside -- THANK YOU!
Oh, me please. And congratulations.
ReplyDeleteWow, congratulations! :) Ooh, I always love getting a new pattern! Reading through the instructions of a new pattern is one of my favourite things to do :)

ReplyDeleteI'm throwing my name in: Hana. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't follow you, but I follow you, if that makes sense. You're such a prolific blogger that your posts would clutter my already cluttered blog reader. But it's easy to keep in memory and just type the URL, so I keep coming back, because it's fun.
Congratulations Peter!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the numbers! I love your blog - I learn and laugh out loud with each one.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Put my name in the hat please! :]
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! -Amy

ReplyDeleteI find your blog really inspiring, so I am not at all surprised by the amount of followers you have. You write and sew beautifully. Congratulations! Look forward to reading more! PL
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And WHEW! I'm still working on my fly front (nearly done) and MIGHT get my backside done in the next two days. You sew way too fast -- or as fast as I would probably sew if Stargate Universe's finale wasn't on tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhat?!? I can't fangirl squee and sew a straight seam at the same time.
Shiny! Congrats on hitting the 1000 followers mark!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteNew reader here...loving your blog!!!
A big huge Congratulations Peter!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Sunni
So you might need to revise "one man's sewing journey into the fantastic" ...perhaps "one man (with his 1000 cheering friends)on a sewing journey into the fantastic"

Doug

Mmmm I wonder if I would get more folowers if I was wearing that gorgeous dress for which I have the perfect fabric in my stash :)
ReplyDeleteWell done Peter!

ReplyDeleteSo I realized, with this post, that I was just a daily visitor and not an official follower! Problem solved =)
ReplyDeleteLol 1000, I haven't reached 100 yet! Congratulations and I'd love to have that pattern. With my hips I prefer flared skirts as straight does not look good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Peter! Did you know you have over 2,000 subscribers in Google Reader? So you have more than 3,000 when factoring in your 1,000 followers!
ReplyDeletei think it was the finished picture of the you in the jeans that drew them in on Mothers Day, it was great!!! Although the best one was the guy with the great ink and fabulous abs that was early on in the series. More of that eye candy please.......
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, and your sense of humor. I never win one of these contests...but I am desperately hoping to be wrong this time....PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteNadine
That looks like my next little black dress! And what a challenge to practicing the full bust adjustment!!!! Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a follower,
ReplyDeletebut a hanger-on.
Congratulations, Peter! I've been watching your follower count steadily rise for months now and have been excited for you. And I know you must have at least twice that many readers, since a lot of readers may be social-media shy like me and aren't official "followers". I've been reading your blog since last February or March and it remains my treat at the end of the day. All the best to you! Not putting my name in the ring for the pattern... it's beautiful and it might even fit me, but it'd probably be the year 2025 before I'd get a chance to sew it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again, and as my 3-year-old says, "you're da best!"
-Slowpoke
