Cathy models the Twenties dress!
The Twenties dress saga is finished at last.
Still a little jet-lagged from her transcontinental flight, Cathy -- a true professional -- gave it her all during our photo shoot yesterday evening. It's amazing what a cold shower, black coffee, and some nicotine will do to get a model back on her feet!
So sit down and enjoy our latest trip into the past -- a world of flappers and sheiks, Wall Street fortunes and wild parties. A world on the brink of a financial catastrophe. A world so very much like our own.
As always, to see these photos full-size, please click on any image and then, in Picasa, choose "View All" in the upper left hand corner, and "Slideshow."
Enjoy, everybody!
So, what do you think? Does Cathy do justice to my poly chiffon?
Fabulous, dahhling!
ReplyDeletefan-bloody-tastic! Cathy looks stunning in the poly-chiffon, that colour is gorgeous and she really knows how to work the camersa - love the photos.
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is brilliant. I think I loved the story of Cathy's love life even more than the dress. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThat is some hot fierceness! I have to admit, despite my initial misgivings, you did EXCELLENT things with that pink chiffon. Just gorgeous and Cathy…breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Peter, just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat cousin Cathy of yours sure knows how to rock a dress! I'm not surprised she has to stay at a nunnery - how else is an elegant modelle of great fashion & taste to maintain her "reputation" - why with Cathy's abundant charm & good grace men must find it hard not to beat down a path to her door.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Great sewing on the dress - how did you finish the armsyce seams in the end please?
That Cathy is the bee's knees! I like the little peeks into her life.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress, Peter. I know you had trouble finding the right fabric but you did! And congratulations on mastering poly chiffon.
Again--beautiful.
Oh, I MUST make one of my 20s patterns after seeing these. I love it! My favorites were the dancing photos. You're so very very Miss Cathy.
ReplyDeleteI do love your Cathy shows. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite of all Cathy's outfits. She really looks comfortable, yet coquettish. The twenties would have been even livelier had they benefited from her adventurous spirit. Great job, Peter!
ReplyDeleteUtterly fabulous! The dress, the model, the story. Love it all, Mr. de Mille! ;)
ReplyDeleteSmiled all the way through. Cathy looks stunning!! I am just so envious of her figure. She looks great in EVERYTHING she puts on. It's enough to turn a girl green.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Peter, that is your best dress for Cathy, I think. It suits the body shape well. Rock on...
ReplyDeleteDress really suits Cathy, she is looking hot in some of these pics.
ReplyDeleteBravo! I envy Cathy's joie de vivre! And her wardrobe ;)
ReplyDeleteBravo! Cathy looks gorgeous. The dress is fabulous. Great job Peter!
ReplyDeleteMermie
Seeing ladies undergarments is thought, by some, to tempt some into sin. On that note: Cathy has one tight ass.
ReplyDeletePeter... You and Cathy are marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I was gonna like that 20's dress, and I don't like it. I LOVE it. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI love 1920's fashion, so I might be biased, but I think this is Cathy's best look to date!
ReplyDeleteCathy is delicious in watermelon!
ReplyDeleteBravo! (for both the dress and the story!) And Bravo! to Michael for the photographs.
ReplyDeleteehrilovethisEEeeEEE! i love your slideshow! and yes- Cathy defintiely does teh chiffon justice and defintely does have that "IT" quality! :) great job!
ReplyDeleteditto, this is Cathy's best look so far. it is so flattering to her shape and did u see all the heads she turned i know a few suitors knock on her door. go Cathy. peter you rock!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO 'Toroughly modern Millie'! Certainly not Andrews'best picture, but who cares? it was crazy, fun and stylish!
ReplyDeleteCathy is tres fabulous in that lovely frock! The twenties suit her well. She is always so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely dress. I'd probably wear it now. The shoes are perfect. I like that you used the word winsome.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with the masses that the third time is a charm; the watermelon is right-on and the style looks good. The activity yoke works for Cathy.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Peter and Cathy set the bar an a new high. What a treat! What a woman!
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. This slideshow was so awesome. BRAVO!!!
ReplyDelete(Cheers to Michael, as well - great photography.)
oh man on man oh man did Cathy rock that look and was Michael on fire with the snaps!
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
I will contain my seething jealousy to get back to the point.
I am going to have to fourth or fifth or whatever number we are up to the vote that the 20's look and Cathy are a match made in heaven. Sorry dude, but you are going to have to make more flapper era dresses for our jet-setting, heartbreaking, supermodel example of how its done when done with panache.
(and please let up know what you decided for the armscye seam finish.)
you should make a book of these photo-shoots with Cathy - I love them! congratulations on getting results with the chiffon - I've sewn with it before and didn't enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteOMG - I'm a fairly new reader of your blog and I must be the most guillible person on the planet (well until yesterday when I really looked at the photos!).
ReplyDeleteNow I just want to say I LOVE Cathy and your slideshows! She is a fabulous model and really rocks the clothes that you make!
Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe watermelon color is absolutely fantastic! Cathy looks stunning as always. Very chic dress!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Cathy is my new favorite model. That dress is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Cathy's 20s style! Huge fan of it myself and had a 1927 tango dress made for my wedding... Go Cathy... I challenge you to a charleston dance off!
